Your time and dedication can change lives. Join Mano a Mano and be part of the change!

Mano a Mano Family Resource Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community-based organization established in the Village of Round Lake Park, Illinois in 2000. Its main office remains in Round Lake Park and in 2019, a satellite location opened in the City of North Chicago.

The organization is a result of a partnership between local legislators, community leaders, and law enforcement who witnessed a significant need for the local growing immigrant community at the time to have linguistically and culturally relevant supportive services. Mano a Mano offers a variety of resources and services, including health resources, educational classes and workshops, and immigration legal services. Its focus is on helping the hardest-to-reach and most vulnerable families and individuals in the community.

Our work is guided by our organizational values, which include collaboration and community building, education, excellence, equitable opportunities, stewardship, and respect for human dignity. We accomplish our mission through our five key programs: Healthy Families, Engaged Citizens, Productive Parents, Democracy in Action, and Successful Children.

Our five programs are strategically designed and implemented to accomplish the following: providing support, building skills, and facilitating access to local community resources and opportunities. Acting as a hub for knowledge on issues relevant to the immigrant community. Promoting best practices in providing culturally competent services. Fostering leadership skills so that all of those who participate in our programs and services can play a role in promoting the advancement of themselves and their community, and informing policies and decisions that impact immigrants and their families.
